St. Laurtentii, Itzehoe
Sie ist schon irgendwie beeindruckend, St. Laurentii, die größte Kirche in Itzehoe.
Am Sonntag dem 13. Oktober durften wir für das ASB-Hospiz und dem Hospiz-Förderverein Itzehoe ein großes Benefizkonzert geben.
Trotz umfangreicher Werbung über die sozialen Netzwerke und vielen Plakaten, die überall im Kreis verteilt wurden, ist man sich bei solchen Veranstaltungen nie ganz sicher, wieviel Zuschauer man für den guten Zweck in die Kirche bekommt.
Pünktlich um 18:00 Uhr konnten wir mit dem Konzert beginnen und wurden nicht enttäuscht.
Nach einer Schätzung waren mehr als 500 Zuschauer in die Kirche gekommen, um uns zu hören und zu sehen und die Arbeit des Hospizvereins Itzehoe und des ASB zu unterstützen.
Der Nachmittag fing für das Aufbauteam ab 14:00 Uhr an. Mikrofone, Mischpult, Beleuchtung aufbauen und das Ganze dann mit gefühlten 3 Kilometer Kabel irgendwie so verbinden, dass da was rauskommt.
Vielen Dank hierfür an Günther und Jannis, die bei kleinen und größeren Projekten von uns dafür sorgen, dass wir gut zu hören und zu sehen sind.
Gegen 16:00 Uhr dann Soundcheck und einsingen.
Die Spannung steigt!
Und da ist es wieder: Dieses kribbelige Gefühl aus Spannung und Vorfreude auf das Konzert.
Dann heißt es: Warten auf Konzertbeginn. Der eine setzt sich hin, der andere läuft hin und her, vielleicht noch einmal in die Noten gucken? - So bringt jeder die Zeit bis zum ersten gesungenen Ton auf seine Weise rum.
5 Minuten vor Konzertbeginn. Alle noch einmal zusammen im kleinen Raum hinter der Orgelempore: Unser Chorleiter wünscht uns viel Spaß - und dann geht’s raus.
Und wie immer ist man kurz nach Anfang des ersten Liedes wieder drin!
Da einige unserer standardmäßigen Solosänger auf Musical-Probe waren, mussten wir das Programm leicht umdisponieren.
Und auch unsere relativ neuen Stücke kamen gut an.
Mit „This is me“ aus dem Film „The greatest Showman“ hatten wir in Itzehoe sogar eine Premiere am Start.
Nach gut 90 Minuten und 1-2 Zugaben hatten die Zuhörer einen gewohnt bunten Mix aus traditionellen Gospel, Rock/Pop, Musical und Filmmusik geboten bekommen.
Und für das ASB-Hospiz und dem Hospiz-Förderverein Itzehoe e.V. kam eine gute Spendensumme zusammen.
Uns hat es wieder sehr viel Spaß gemacht und wir sind bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal in Itzehoe aufgetreten.
Nur schade, dass sich kein einziger Vertreter der lokalen Presse zu diesem Benefizkonzert eingefunden hat und auch kein einziger Bericht in der Presse zu finden ist.
Sicherlich wäre ein Bericht über diese Benefizveranstaltung zu Gunsten des ehrenamtlichen Engagements des Hospizvereins Itzehoe und dem Bau des ersten stationären Hospizes in Itzehoe für einige Leser interessant gewesen.
Während die Kirche sich langsam leert, bauen wir wieder ab. Alles wird eingepackt, in die Fahrzeuge verstaut und die Kirche (hoffentlich) so verlassen, wie wir sie vorgefunden hatten.
Kaum zu glauben, dass hier ein Gospel-Konzert mit über 500 Zuschauern stattgefunden hat.
Jetzt bereiten wir uns schon auf unser Jahreskonzert in Wacken vor.
Denn: Nach dem Konzert ist vor dem Konzert…
It's kind of impressive, St. Laurentii, the largest church in Itzehoe.
On Sunday the 13th of October we were able to give a big charity concert for the ASB-Hospice and the Hospiz-Förderverein Itzehoe.
Despite extensive advertising on the social networks and many posters that were distributed throughout the district, one is never quite sure at such events, how many spectators you get for the good cause in the church.
Punctually at 18:00 clock we could start the concert and were not disappointed.
According to an estimate, more than 500 spectators came to the church to hear and see us and to support the work of the Itzehoe Hospice Association and the ASB.
The afternoon started for the construction team from 2:00 pm. Build microphones, mixing console, lighting and then connect the whole thing with felt 3 kilometers cable somehow so that there something like good sound and light comes out.
Many thanks for this to Günther and Jannis, who make sure that we can be heard and seen in small and larger projects.
At 16:00 then soundcheck and sing.
The voltage increases!
And there it is again: This tingling feeling of excitement and anticipation of the concert.
Then: Waiting for the concert to begin. One sits down, the other runs back and forth, maybe looking at the notes again? - So everyone brings around the time to the first sung note in his own way.
5 minutes before the concert begins. All together again in the small room behind the organ loft: Our choirmaster wishes us a lot of fun - and then it all walks out.
And as always, you're back in shortly after the beginning of the first song!
Since some of our standard solo singers were on musical rehearsal, we had to reschedule the program easily.
And also our relatively new pieces were well received.
With "This is me" from the movie "The greatest Showman" we even had a premiere in Itzehoe.
After a good 90 minutes and 1-2 encores, the audience had been offered a familiar mix of traditional gospel, rock / pop, musical and film music.
And for the ASB-Hospice and the Hospiz-Förderverein Itzehoe e.V. a good donation sum came together.
We had a lot of fun again and we certainly did not play for the last time in Itzehoe.
Too bad that not a single representative of the local press has come to this charity concert and not even a single report can be found in the press. Surely a report about this charity event in favor of the voluntary work of the Itzehoe Hospice Association and the construction of the first inpatient hospice in Itzehoe would have been interesting for some readers.
While the church is slowly emptying, we dismantle again. Everything is wrapped up, stowed away in the vehicles and (hopefully) left the church as we found it.
Hard to believe that a gospel concert with over 500 spectators took place here.
Now we are preparing for our annual concert in Wacken.
